Bethlehem Nature & Science Center

A shared campus

Beside the planned Ocean Discovery Center, sharing what we can.

Primary location: South Bethlehem, beside the planned Ocean Discovery Center (planning phase). The owner has not agreed yet.

Meadow and nature play: the South Bethlehem Greenway (planning phase). The City hasn't agreed yet.

Illustration, not to scale: the two centers on East 3rd Street with a shared lobby, who hosts which shared piece, Southside Station, and the Greenway play areas and meadow.
Shared campus with the Ocean Discovery Center (illustration)Not to scale. Two separate plans sharing a lobby, restrooms, a food and water hub, solar and an e-bike station.

Next door to the Ocean Discovery Center

An existing building, reused. Two separate projects share one campus:

  • A lobby
  • Accessible, all-gender and family restrooms
  • A food and water hub
  • A bike and e-bike station

From meadow to ocean

Rain on the meadow flows to the Lehigh, then the Delaware, then the Atlantic.

Modern and natural

Reused materials, solar with a battery, heat pumps, rainwater and bird-safe glass. Licensed professionals build to the ADA and codes.

Nothing wasted

Water at every event, food on request. Leftovers are labeled and shared.
